Privacy Policy

NEARR is a private space for two people. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, and we never show ads.

Who this applies to

This policy covers the NEARR mobile app and this website, operated by the makers of NEARR ("NEARR", "we", "us").

What we collect

• Account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple identifier and, only if you choose to share it, your name and a private relay email address. If you use NEARR without signing in, your account is identified only by an anonymous, device-generated ID.
• Profile. The first name you enter when setting up, and an optional profile photo if you choose to add one. NEARR asks for camera or photo-library access only when you choose to set a photo.
• Pairing. The invite code used to connect you with your partner, and the link between your two accounts.
• Your signals and milestones. Pings, Hugs, check-ins, quick expressions, and the milestones you reach together, stored so your partner can see them.
• Notifications. If you enable them, a device push token so we can deliver alerts.
• Subscriptions. If you buy NEARR Pro, we receive your subscription status from Apple and our billing provider. We never receive or store your card or payment details.
• Basic diagnostics. Limited technical data needed to keep the app working and secure.

How we use it

We use this information only to operate NEARR: to pair you with your partner, deliver your signals and milestones, send notifications you have asked for, manage subscriptions, and keep the service secure.

Your content is private to your couple

The signals and milestones in your couple room are visible only to you and your paired partner. We do not read this content, except where strictly necessary to keep someone safe, to investigate a report of abuse, or where required by law.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that make NEARR work:

• Google Firebase for sign-in, database, file storage, hosting, and message delivery.
• Apple for Sign in with Apple and App Store subscription billing.
• RevenueCat for subscription management.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and NEARR contains no advertising.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, under Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, your couple room, and the signals and content tied to your account, and unpairs your partner. You can also export a copy of your data at any time from Settings. Some limited records may be retained where required by law.

Age

NEARR is intended for people aged 17 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 17.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page.
